Day One: Village Check In & Host Familiarization (13:00 – 20:00)

Arrive at the Village for overnight, meet and greet by the host families for room check in. Welcome drinks coffee or tea will be served, while familiarizing with members of the host family. The host is ready to accompany you for afternoon village walking tours to learn what the locals are doing for their daily activities. Evening is dinner at leisure with the host and their family members.

Day Two: Full Day Village Experience (09:00 – 20:00)

Breakfast at leisure with the host. First morning village experience will be stopped to visit Taman Pule Temple. The temple is dedicated to Highest Hindu Priest Dang Hyang Nirartha who came to the village around 15th century. The arrival of Siwa Hindu Priest at Mas Village made Bandesa Mas clans so honored. To show their commitment for learning Hindu religion from the priest, Bendesa Mas clans built an Ashram for priest’s permanent house. The Family of Bendesa Mas has also offered their daughter Ayu Mas Gumitir became wife of Dang Hyang Nirartha. From their wedding was born a son which called Brahmana Mas. The son grew up and The priest had to leave the village for Gelgel Kingdom to be religious advisor for King Dalem Waturenggong great King of Bali 1460-1550 AD. In this occasion, Bendesa Manik Mas asked the priest to bless him as Hindu Priest in the village with title Pangeran Manik Mas Siwa Priest. The temple festi­val at Taman Pule is celebrated every 210 days according to Balinese Calendar on Saturday Keliwon Kuningan. The clans of Bendesa Mas that scattered over Bali Island will come for praying in order they will get a prosperity and health in their life.

Visiting elementary school is the next stop. Students are so cheerful to welcome every tourist for visit. You will be allowed by school master to enter one of the classes to share your English and country’s knowledge with students. Group pictures used to be made after classroom session. Continues village tour to visit Mask Maker house of Ida Bagus Anom, or House of Ida Bagus Tilem is the best wood carving artist in his era. Cooking lessons is the highlight of Village. Local guide will take you to Balinese Kitchen cooking your dishes for Lunch such as: Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice), Tum Ayam atau lkan (Steamed Chicken or fish), Jukut urab (mixed vegetables with coconut). This will be unforgotten experience at Balinese Dapur (Kitchen). Afternoon program has been set up by local host for workshops. First workshop is to get involve how to make a basic Bali­nese offering we called “CANANG SARI ” is a small offering of flowers or tiny square tray woven out of coconut leaf. Canang refers to the tray and sari refers to the essence of the offering which may be a small amount of money placed on top. Next workshop will be Balinese Dancing which is very ancient dance tradition that is a part of the religious and artistic expression among the Balinese people, native to Bali island. Balinese dance is dynamic, angular and intensely expressive. The Balinese dancers express the story of dance-drama through the whole bodily gestures, fingers, hands and body gestures and eyes movements. Evening is for dinner at local Warung (food stall).

Day Three: Wood Carving lessons (09:00 – 20:00).

Morning Breakfast at Leisure. The whole day is for learning how to carve a piece of wood for statutes or mask, the choice in depending on your interest. A wood carver will introduce you kinds of woods that are usually used for very good carving. Some woods are suite to carving such as: ebony, sandal wood, hibiscus, and acacia. Meanwhile for wooden mask the wood should be weak for example “Kayu Pule” or milk wood. First step is to select one of carving models you will choose according as you like. The following steps are, the position of seating, selecting chisels, how to hold a hammer, drawing the wood with design preferred, to start carving. This is very basic carving and knowing the technique of Balinese Carving. Breaks for lunch will be served at local Warung (food stall). Afternoon continues again with the lessons until sunset. Dinner will be at village restaurants.

Day Four: Half Day relax before departure (09:00 – 12:00).

Getting up in the morning for jogging around the village for fresh air. Breakfast will be served by the host. Spending some hours with the host before departing to next destination. End of services.
